Tritium monitor
Description
The present invention concerns an improvement for a tritium monitor which monitors the concentration of tritium contained in air by using a membrane separation device. That is, the device of the present invention comprises a means for intaking and demoistening the air and an adsorbing means for adsorbing interference substances in the effluent air and uses the air as a carrier gas. With such a constitution, humidity and tritium in air are removed by the demoistening means. Then, Rn and Tn, which are the interference substances upon detection of tritium, in the air dried by the adsorbing means can be removed. The air removed with Rn and Tn receives tritium in the air in the membrane separation device and flows as a carrier into the monitor, in which the concentration of tritium is monitored. Accordingly, the concentration of tritium in the air as the carrier gas is defined as that in the air to be monitored. As a result, since no special carrier gas is necessary, it is economical and the accuracy can be improved. (I.S.)
