  • 1. Science Univ. of Malaysia, Minden, Pulau Pinang

Description

[(C10H8N)2CuCl] OH.6H2O, Mr=536.466, is orthorhombic Pnna with a=14.380(4)A, b=23.358(6)A, c=14.906(4)A, Vc=5006.73A, Dx=1.42, Dm=1.40 Mgm-3; Z=8, F(000)=2232, μ=9.66 cm-1, (MoKα)=.71069A. The structure was solved by heavy atom method and refined to a final R value of 0.0693 based on 4140 unique reflections collected and 1328 used. The heavy atom is bonded to two bipyramidal ligands via four nitrogen atoms and to a chlorine atom, forming a trigonal bipyramidal structure. The hydroxyl and water molecules are present in interstitial sites at various site occupation factors. (author)
