Statistical study of the mechanical properties of beryllium
Description
The uses of statistics in analysing and applying beryllium strength data are discussed. Statistical analysis results are given for beryllium tensile data. It is concluded that Weibull analysis provides a convenient method of characterizing material variability. An illustrative example of safety factor calculation is given. The importance of Weibull analysis in design may be great if the weakest-link hypothesis is verified for beryllium failure. (author)
