Evolution of plastic deformation mechanics in porous metals

Description

Experimental investigation into the deformation structure of porous iron with porosity degree P from 4 to 40% and within deformation range ε up to destruction is conducted. Values of grain-boundary slipping, structural element turnings, single contributions to general deformation depending on P and ε are measured. Change of predominant mechanisms of plastic deformation under porosity increase, linked with the change of the system topological characteristics and corresponding to a transition from intragranular sliding to a group of mechanisms, providing for the grain motion as a whole, is ascertained. Analysis of the regularities ascertained is performed on the base of deformation structural level concept. 15 refs., 2 figs
