Ionoptical elements and calculations for an intense ion beam accelerator

Description
General aspects of ionoptics in high-current ion beam accelerators are discussed. Ionoptical calculations including space charge effects give basic information for the design of ionoptical elements as well as their optimization during ion beam operation. Some ionoptical elements of an intense ion beam accelerator are described in detail. Furthermore, experimental methods and results of ion beam measurements are presented. (author)
