Description

Neutron skin is one of the key parameters in nuclei. It can be used to constrain the asymmetric nuclear matter equation of state. The 96Zr neutron skin with the angular distribution of 12C+96Zr elastic scattering was studied. The best fitting optical potential parameters were figured out by comparing the experimental angular distribution of 12C+96Zr elastic scattering with the results calculated with Woods-Saxon potential. A series of optical potentials were computed with double folding potential model (DFM) by using different neutron density distributions in 96Zr. The neutron density distribution and the thickness of neutron skin in 96Zr were studied by comparison of the two sets of optical potentials. The thickness of 96Zr neutron skin was deduced to be 0.087 fm, and the result is in agreement with that of other work. (authors)
