Description

Chemical aspects of the gallium-germanium neutrino detector developing are considered. From the viewpoint of chemical engineering the problem is reduced to rather complete extraction of separate atoms of 71Ge isotope from enormous amounts (about 60 t) of gallium. A critical analysis of the proposed methods for the problem solution is given. It is shown that from the chemical viewpoint the problem of gallium-germanium detector can be considered as an inverse problem of superhigh purification of substances
