Phase transformations in indium monotelluride under pressure

  • 1. Tsentral'nyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Chernoj Metallurgii, Moscow (USSR)

Description

A phase T-p-diagram of indium monotelluride is plotted under conditions of true hydrostatic pressures. It is ascertained that the transformation of InTe(1) initial phase into InTe(2) pressure induced phase is accompanied by hysteresis whose value sharply increases as temperature drops. A conclusion is made that such a nature of hysteresis change with pressure and temperature preserves the pressiure-induced phase for InTe under atmospheric conditions. It is shown that InTe mething curve is characterized by the temperature maximum, which arising is conditioned by phase transformation in the liquid state
