Magnetic field of the Uranus planet: forecasts, measurements, interpretation

Description

Value and inclination of the eccentric Uranus dipole are considered in the framework of the model of precession dynamo. It is shown that unique parameters of the Uranus magnetic field are related to the fact, that versus other planets, the Uranus magnetic field is generated in two adjacent regions with high-conducting substances differing sharply with respect to density. Dipole and quadrupole component of the Uranus field were calculated in assumption, that they are generated in Uranus precession under the effect of gravitational field of Miranda satellite mainly (84%). Dipole inclination to rotation axis (i=60 deg) is related to the change of direction of force lines of nucleus field during diffusion through the boundary nucleus/ice ocean and then to the ocean. It is shown that this angle can achieve 54-59. The declined field is summarized by vectors with the field of metallized water layer at r∼9000 km distance from the center, where both fields (of nucleus and layer) are equal with respect to intensity to ∼ 28500 nT. The summary field with intensity equal to them is declined by ∼ 60 deg angle from rotation axis and forms the stable configuration. The summary field is considered to be the initial field of dynamo process in higher layers of metallized part of the ocean and dictates the inclination and eccentricity of the Uranus dipole. Thermal Uranus anomaly-equality of temperatures in polar and equatorial regions - can be explained in the framework of the model of precession dynamo
