Description

Investigations of positron lifetimes and X-ray diffraction measurements in the metallic glass Fe78Si9B13 before and after electron bombardment (E = 15 keV, t = 24 h), lead to two general conclusions. Firstly, bombardment with electrons did not significantly change the atomic structure of the metallic glass. Secondly, the process of electron bombardment resulted in alterations in the concentration of free electrons and in increased occurrence of positron-trapping voids. (author)
