The evolutionary status of the pulsating helium star BD + 1303224 (V652 Her)
Description
Zero-age models and evolutionary sequences for horizontal-branch stars with very low envelope hydrogen abundances (X < 0.01) have been constructed. Models with a helium core mass 0.475 Msolar mass reproduce the observed luminosity and surface temperature of the pulsating helium star BD + 130 3224 (V652 Her) very well. The rate of period decrease of BD + 130 3224 can also be reproduced by considering the contraction of the models as they evolve from their zero-age position towards the Helium Main Sequence. (author)
