Program for calculation of efficiency of neutron detection with stilbene cristal
Description
A program is described for calculation of spectrometer characteristics on the basis of a stilbene crystal. The calculation has been performed using a method of direct simulation of neutron interaction with a scintillator material. Methods and technique employed in the process of neutron straying and nuclear reaction simulation are described in detail. All the nuclear data required for the calculation have been accumulated and sorted out. The type of a light yield dependence for protons upon direction of its movement in the scintillator has been determined based on the calculations performed as well as on their comparison with the experimental data. Detailed calculations have been undertaken of neutron recording efficiency values and spectrometer line shape for neutrons with an energy from 0.1 up to 50 MeV with two directions of their incidence on the scintillator
