Description
Tibial osseous lesions in a 'flame shape' are usually equated with Paget's disease. We have seen 4 cases in which such lesions were present on 99mTc-diphosphonate images (and one of them on a radiogallium study as well). Thus, the flame shape on osseous imaging can be due to other causes such as a cemented joint prosthesis in one instance and malignancy in 3 others. Radiographs of the area are important in establishing the etiology of this bone scan finding. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
(orig.)Additional details
