The infrared problem in color dynamics
Description
Calculations of infrared singularities in non-Abelian (Yang-Mills) gauge theories and in particular Quantum Chomodynamics are reported in the leading-logarithm approximation. Possible applications to hadron physics are discussed such as: an explanation of the quark counting rules for exclusive fixed-angle cross sections, an indication of an infrared mechanism for quark confinement, and a picture of hadronic matter at large interquark distances resulting from the assumption of very strong long range forces between colored quanta
