The distance of Kepler's supernova remnant

Description
A reliable determination of the interstellar absorption in front of Kepler's supernova remnant combined with other data, historical and recent, suggests a distance for the remnant of 3.2 +- 0.7 kpc. This is considerably less than hitherto adopted values. (author)
