NK cell activite in C157BL/Ka mice during the development of radiation induced thymic lymphomas

Description
Treatment of C57BL/Ka mice with a split dose whole-body irradiation (four weekly irradiations of 1,75 Gy) induces the development of thymic lymphomas. NK activity of spleen cells has been determined at several internals after leukemogenic treatment. Two days after irradiations, NK activity is normal and decreases strongly after one week. This period of decline persists during about one month. Then, NK activity restores and reaches control values. Lymphomas appear in spite of NK activity restauration. The diminution of NK activity during the preleukemic period could favour preleukemic cells apparition
Abstract (French)
Le traitement de souris C57BL/Ka par une irradiation corporelle totale fractionnee (quatre irradiations de 1,75 Gy exercees a une semaine d'intervalle) induit le developpement de lymphomes thymiques. L'activite NK des cellules spleniques a ete determinee a differents intervalles apres ce traitement leucemogene. Deux jours apres les irradiations, l'activite NK est normale et diminue fortement apres une semaine. Cette periode de declin persiste pendant environ un mois. L'activite NK se retablit alors et atteint des valeurs analogues a celles des temoins. Des lymphomes paraissent malgre une restauration de l'activite NK. La diminution de l'activite NK durant la periode preleucemique pourrait favoriser l'apparition de cellules preleucemiquesAdditional details
