Decommissioning and rehabilitation of uranium mines and mills in Germany
Description
After 45 years of uranium mining in the states of Saxonia and Thuringia, many square kilometeres of land got contaminated. These are relatively densely populated areas of Germany. As mining is no more profitable, a huge decommissioning and rehabilitation programme was initiated in 1991. (Abstract only)
