Radiation shielding wall structure

Description

Shielding walls are disposed for partitioning a high radiation dose region and a low radiation dose region in a radiation handing facility in which high radiation source equipments are disposed. Labyrinth walls are disposed for preventing direct rays upon constituting access doors to the shielding walls. Movable shielding walls are disposed to the labyrinth walls for shielding scattered rays. The movable shielding walls are kept closed in order to prevent the distribution of the scattering due to radiation rays during operation of the equipments. Further, upon maintenance and inspection conducted during stopping of equipments, the movable shielding walls are contained in the shielding wall main body. In this case, the movable shielding walls are constituted with concretes or iron plates. With such a constitution, even if no sufficient labyrinth structure can be utilized, shielding effect substantially identical with that of the labyrinth structure can be obtained in view of the reduction of exposure dose.
