Fast reconstruction unit for CT scanner

Description
Description is made here of a simple reconstruction algorithm and the general method of raising speed by the CT scanner for the second generation. Presented as a practical example is the reconstruction unit CFR-30A developed for the brain CT scanner TCT-30. CFR-30A, utilizing the latest LS Is, such as the bipolar bit slice ALU (am 2901B), the microsequencer (Am 2910), the 16 x 16-bit multiplier accumulator (TDC 1010J), and the 8-K bit bipolar PROM, has effected marked speed-up of reconstruction; the reconstruction that required 100 seconds so far has come to be finished in 7 seconds.
