Transverse polarization, resonance interference and quantum chromodynamics

Description
We investigate the possibility of extending to high pT a recent model of transverse polarization in high-energy inclusive Λ production, that was found to explain successfully the data at low transverse momenta. Our conclusion is negative, since the model gives rise to a Λ polarization much smaller than the experimental findings. (orig.)
