Pressure-induced magnetic instability in Cr1-xVx alloys

Description
The electrical resistivity and magnetoresistance of the antiferromagnetic Cr1-xVx alloys (0-bar x-bar 0.04) have been measured under hydrostatic pressure up to 3GPa in order to make clear the stability of the antiferromagnetic SDW state at high pressure. The Gruneisen parameter of TN for x=0.035 is found to be negative and its magnitude to be much larger than those of x=0 and 0.015, which indicates that the antiferromagnetic state of Cr1-xVx becomes unstable near x=0.035
