Description
The laser crystals' performances being tightly bound to their spectroscopic properties, their continuous study is essential. The paper concerns an investigation, from highly resolved spectra, of erbium in YALO. It presents various conditions that influence the Er emission efficiency, the ways of excitation that lead to an upconversion effect, and the distribution of the active ions inside the host. (orig.)
