Thermal radiation-induced effects in glasses
Description
Various thermalradiation effects are prospected and studied, arising at founding, tempering, annealing of glasses of different type. Studies are made on borate and telluride glasses. To induce stable radiation centers after the end of radiation high-temperature actions, glasses have been irradiated at room temperature. EPR spectra of radiation paramagnetic centers have been measured in cantimeter range, their signal intensity is proportional to intensity of inducino. of optical absorption bands. The change of radiation-optical stability of glasses has been estimated, new structural groupings have been singled out by comparison of EPR spectra of glasses before and after radiation treatment. Experimental results have shown that found thermoradiation effects mainly come to the change of interaction processes of glass melting with environment
