Description

Rare decays of the b quark are expected to provide a sensitive test of the standard model. A number of calculations have suggested that QCD corrections will be significant, especially for a lighter top quark mass. We present a calculation of these QCD corrections; the results differ from those of previous authors and take into account both b→sγ and b→sG. The magnitude of the enhancement for b→sγ is about one-half of the previous estimates. For b→sG there is a strong suppression. (orig.)
