Description
Cerium doped yttrium aluminium garnet (Y3-xCexAl5O12) is widely used yellow emitting phosphor for white light-emitting diode (w-LEDs) applications, due to its excellent optical properties, chemical and thermal stability. Solid state reaction (SSR) route is the most employed synthesis route for the production of Y3-xCexAl5O12 phosphors, but with the drawbacks like very high process temperature (>1500 °C), and hydrogen atmosphere. Several wet chemical techniques were explored to overcome the drawbacks of solid-state synthesis, out of those, co-precipitation method is most promising method as it is capable of producing homogeneous powders at large scale. In the present study urea-based co-precipitation method is used to synthesize Y3-xCexAl5O12 phosphors in bulk scale
