Description
This paper reports on Nuplex 80+, and Advanced Control Complex which has been designed by ABB/C-E to meet the demanding human factors, reliability and licensing requirements of nuclear power generating stations. It is characterized by distributed digital processing, fiber optic data communications and touch sensitive video displays. This advanced design was originally developed for System 80+ (C-E's evolutionary Advanced Light Water reactor), but its utilization of sound human factors principles and proven technology has resulted in the selection of Nuplex 80+ for use in other advanced reactor technologies, as well. These include heavy water reactors and C-E's Safe Integral Reactor (SIR) which is an advanced passive light water reactor
