Reaction of phenyl derivatives of lanthanides with fluorolefines
Description
Using the PMR method, comparative reactivity of Ce, Sm, Eu and Yb phenyl derivatives towards fluorinated olefines depending on redox properties of metal and the structure of lanthanide organic compound in THF solution has been studied. It is shown that reaction of PhSmI with 1,2,2-trifluorostyrene (in contrast to PhEuI and PhYbI) provides equimolar mixture of cis- and trans-isomers of 5,6-difluoro-4,6-diphenyl-5-hexene-1-ol. PhCeI does not react with 1,2,2-trifluorostyrene, however, cerium organic complex is the product of oxidative addition of Ce to PhI in the presence of equivalent of LiI quantity - with 1,2,2-trifluorostyrene it forms equimolar mixture of cis- and trans-isomers of 5,6-difluoro-4,6-diphenyl-5-hexene-1-ol
