Recent developments in Heliotron research

  • 1. Kyoto Univ., Uji (Japan). Plasma Physics Lab.

Description

MHD activities in Heliotron D are studied for the subtractive Ohmic current case and the result is well explained by theory. A Monte-Carlo code has been developed to calculate the neutral beam energy deposition in a toroidal helical geometry. The heating efficiency on the injection angle is calculated for Heliotron E and fairly good efficiency is obtained even in perpendicular injection. The present status of Heliotron E is also described. (author)
