New live loading design improves gland sealing [valves]
Description
GEC Energy Systems of Britain and Velan of Canada have collaborated to produce a valve with improved gland sealing to meet the needs of the British PWR programme. The principal objectives of the improved gland seal development were: reduced radiation doses; increased reliability; and reduced maintenance. (U.K.)
