The method of determination of lungs' residual volume

The method of determination of lungs' residual volume with the purpose of increasing the determination accuracy was elaborated. It includes radiopneumography, the measurement of content changed of radioactive gas in spirograph's chamber. Additionally the radioactivity in blood and soft tissues of organism is determined. For this purpose scintillation detector is set over thigh artery and blood probe is taken. The value is determined by formula: RV=Vchamber(Co-C1)-Qr, where RV - residual volume of lungs; Vchamber - initial gas volume in spirograph's chamber and Co - initial radioactivity of gas in chamber, C1 - final specific activity in chamber, Qr - total radioactivity in the body.
