Computerized information and measurement system for environmental radiation monitoring at the Kozloduy NPP in normal and accident conditions

The paper describes in detail the decentralized System for Environmental Radiation Monitoring used in the Kozloduy NPP. It has two hierarchical management levels. The lower level consists of 10 local measurement stations for measurement of dose rate and J-131 concentration in the air, 5 water control stations for measurement of waste water activity and 3 autonomic meteorological stations. The upper level comprises 3 operator stations, a server, a communication processor, modems, serial interface and 12 controllers for data transmission and processing. The equipment is provided by the firms BERTHOLD (GE) and ANSELMA (AU)
