Application of alternating current polarography in determination of vanadium in fuels and asches

  • 1. Leningradskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Leningrad (USSR)

Description

Polarographic behaviour of vanadium (4) on mercury dropping cathode in trapezoidal mode of alternating current polarography at the background of phosphate - and rhodanide-ions has been studied. At the background of rhodanide-acetate solutions in pH range of 0.6-2.5 an evidently pronounced and reprhducible peak of vanadium reduction with the potential -0.59 V is formed. The possibility of vanadium determination in the presence of Al3+, Cr3+, Fe3+, Fe2+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Co2+ is shown. The method of vanadium determination in oil, petroleum residue and asches is developed. The determination limit is 0.1 μg/ml
