Helium liberation at oxidation of iron, containing inert gas
- 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Fizicheskoj Khimii
Description
Helium-containing iron oxidation is shown to be followed by liberation of inert gas. The analysis of helium profiles, measured before and after oxidation of the iron - helium system, and the ESCA measurements of the oxide films combined with a layer-by-layer ion sputtering made it possible to establish that the helium liberation occurs preferentially from the oxidizing metal layers
