Study on the eta→μ+μ- decay

Description
The mass spectrum of the muonic pairs from the π-p→μ+μ-n reaction has been studied at 25 and 33 GeV/c. A peak associated with the rare decay eta→μ+μ- has been observed in the mass spectrum. The measured respective probability for this decay is (6.5+-2.1)x10-6. This value agrees well with theoretical estimates
