The paper contains the Government's observations on the second report (session 1986-7) and third report (session 1986-7) from the House of Common's Energy Committee. The topics in the title are published as appendices to the First Special Report. Appendix 1 contains a discussion of the decommissioning of U.K. reactors, including the timing of the various stages, the levels of radioactivity, the timescale involved and the accounting of the decommissioning costs.
