Description
Radiation transport in planar laser-produced plasma is considered. An approximate transport algorithm is presented in which the specific intensity is calculated recursively at any point in the plasma. Results obtained with this simple model are in excellent agreement with those of a more accurate transport calculation in which each zone in the plasma is coupled to every other one. The saving in computer time, when using the recursive scheme, can be more than one order of magnitude. (author). 16 refs., 1 tab., 6 figs
