Description
Cascades of two successively emitted γ-quanta after thermal neutron capture in 181Ta were studied. Parameters of 423 strongest cascades exciting 192 intermediate (in cascade) levels of this nucleus were determined. Analysis of the data on both the most intensive cascades and on their sum shows that cascade γ-decay of compound states can't be described without account of very strong effect of collective modes of excitation on level density and partial widths of γ-transitions practically in the whole range of energies of excited states
