Fallacy of perturbative methods for higher-spin equations

  • 1. New York Univ., N.Y. (USA). Dept. of Physics

Description

It is considered the problem of making a quantum field theory out of a higher spin classical field theory in presence of interactions. It is pointed out that there are essential features of the theory which are missing in the perturbative solution. In particular, although the perturbation solution is casual in every order, the exact solution, if it exists, is non-casual
