Hydrogen formation during radiolysis of aqueous solutions of K2Cr2O7 and UO2SO4 under irradiation by γ-60Co and pile fast neutrons

Description
Effect of γ-radiation of 60Co (4.80±0.05 Gy/s dose rate) and pile fast neutrons on sulfuric acid aqueous K2Cr2O7 (2.5x10-3 -10-1 mol/dm3) and UO2SO4 (1x102-2.14 mol/dm3) solutions and their mixtures is studied. It is shown that effect of suppression of initial H2 yield in the presence of two acceptors of its predecessors under γ-radiolysis is additive. Effects of γ- and neutron components are additive and relative suppression of H2 yield under one and the same bichromate concentration at the expense of γ-radiation and fast neutrons is similar under K2Cr2O7 solution irradiation with reactor radiation
