Oscillator phenomena in the solar atmosphere and radiation modulation in microwaves
Description
An overview of the principal known descriptions of oscillations in the solar atmosphere at different ranges of periods was developed. Particular attention was given to oscillations with time scale of seconds, associated to active regions or bursts. 1.5 quasi-periodic oscillations were detected by the first time at more than one microwave frequency simultaneously (22 GHz and 44 GHz), with high sensitivity and high time resolution, superimposed on a burst on Dec. 15, 1980. An advance phase of 0,3s between the oscillations in the frequencies of 22 GHz and 44 GHz was discovered. The proposed mechanism to explain such oscillations is based on oscillations of the magnetic field at the source. These oscillations modulate the gyro-synchrotron emission from high energy electrons trapped in the magnetic structure. The phase difference is attributed to the influence of the optical thickness of the gyro-synchrotron emission at 22 GHz. (Author)

Fez-se um levantamento dos principais resultados conhecidos sobre oscilacoes na atmosfera solar, nas varias faixas de periodicidades. Atencao particular foi dada a oscilacoes com escalas de tempo de segundo, associadas a regioes ativas ou a explosoes solares. Oscilacoes quase periodicas de 1,5 s foram detetadas pela primeira vez em mais de uma frequencia de microondas simultaneamente (22 GHz e 44 GHz), com alta sensibilidade e resolucao temporal, superpostas a uma explosao solar em 15 de dezembro de 1980. Descobriu-se a existencia de um avanco de fase de 0,3 s entre as oscilacoes nas frequencias de 22 GHz e 44 GHz. O mecanismo proposto para explicar o fenomeno baseia-se em oscilacoes do campo magnetico na fonte, que modulam a emissao giro-sincrotronica de eletrons aprisionados na estrutura magnetica. A diferenca de fase e atribuida a influencia da profundidade optica para emissao giro-sincrotronica na frequencia de 22 GHz. (Autor)Files
