Effect of exotoxin of Pseudomonas glycinia on RNA metabolism of host plants
- 1. Udaipur Univ. (India). Agricultural Experiment Station
Description
Effect of exotoxin of Pseudomonas glycinia on RNA metabolism of soybean was investigated. The toxin affected leaves showed eight to ten fold increase in ribonuclease activity in units per 10 mg fresh weight. The corresponding increase in specific activity of ribonuclease was four to five folds. The rate of RNA biosynthesis was also increased about one and half folds as judged with the help of incorporation of uracil 2-C14 into RNA fraction of healthy and toxin affected leaves. (author)
