Impact parameter dependence of TE*

Description
The impact parameter dependence of Transfer and Excitation in ion-atom collisions has been studied using the impulse approximation. Calculations show that Resonant Transfer and Excitation (RTE) and Non-resonant Transfer and Excitation (NTE) have quite distinctive impact parameter dependences, NTE being confined to very small impact parameters and RTE being important, at resonant energy, over a much larger range of the parameters
