Perturbation of a plasma by a focused CO2 laser beam

Description

The perturbation introduced in a plasma by absorption of pulsed CO2 laser radiation has been measured as a function of laser energy and plasma density using a piezoelectric probe. Results have relevance to CO2 laser-plasma diagnostics and gas breakdown.
