Description
Process development for bulk separation of actinides and lanthanides (An and Ln) from high level liquid waste (HLLW) generated during the reprocessing of spent nuclear fuel has been successfully demonstrated using N, N,N',N' tetra (2-ethylhexyl)diglycolamide (TEHDGA). Industrially available reagents such as di-2-ethylhexylphosphoric acid (D2EHPA), lactic acid and diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) are being evaluated for separation of An and Ln from TEHDGA on the basis of TALSPEAK process. This report deals with the optimization of experimental parameters such as concentration of D2EHPA in n-dodecane, DTPA, lactic acid etc. to facilitate industrial adoption of the separation process
