Power electron beams and its usage

Description
Elucidated is the up to-date state of the problem on high-current relativistic electron beams (HREB) generation for purposes of collective acceleration methods, plasma heating and generation of electromagnetic waves. The methods of production of HREB with the energy of 105-107 eV, beam current of 104 - 106 A, pulse duration of 10-8 -10-6 s beam energy of 102/106 J pulse power of 109 - 101+H3 W are described. The injection and transport of electron beams in different media and the phenomenon occuring on particles passing near the boundary of two media are considered. The possibilities of HREB application for collective acceleration methods are described. The instabilities of ring beams of different types schemes for ring beam formation in the increasing magnetic field are considered. The possibilities of HREB application for initiation of a controllable thermonuclear reaction and for laser pumping are shown
