Testing of potential environmentally safe refrigerants
Description
The authors have investigated the electrical breakdown parameters that contribute to arc-induced perfluoroisobutylene (PFIB) formation in alternative refrigerants and dielectrics. They performed an extensive experimental matrix to determine the important electrical parameters that contribute to PFIB formation. Measurements were made on the electrical parameters associated with the breakdown and on the amount of PFIB that was produced
