Coordinate delta-chambers for the measurement of intensive particle beam parameters

Description

A description is given of coordinate delta-chambers, designed to measure the parameters of proton beam extraction, based on the effect of knocking-out electrons when a fast charged particle passes through a substance. The chambers of two types with a spatial resolution of 1 and 9 mm have been developed and tested at the 70 GeV accelerator designed by the Institute of High-Energy Physics. The saturation effect has not been observed at the intensity of up to 1013 proton/cm2 cycle
