Description

The structure of the nuclear wave function at relativistic nucleon moment is considered. The invariant variables in momentum representation are indicated, and a three-dimensional relativistic coordinate space is introduced. The latter tends to the usual coordinate space in the nonrelativistic limit (at distances much larger than the Compton length of the nucleon). Some arguments are presented showing that at relativistic momentum transfers the nuclear from factors are expected to decrease as the power function of the rapidity, i.e., of the logarithm of the momentum transferred rather than of the transferred momentum itself (that is usually the case in the common quantum mechanical approach). The influence of the relativistic effects on nuclear structure is considered, and the possible experiments aimed at the effective probing of the nuclear wave function in the relativistic region are discussed
