Description
In September-October 1981 and March 1982 UBVRJHK photometry has been obtained for the eclipsing binary RX Cas. The UBVRJHK radiation of RX Cas near the secondary minimum pay be supposed to consist of two components: the radiation of a G(5+- 2) giant and that of a blackbody with Tsub(ef) = 6000 K. In the near ultraviolet (U filter) an excess radiation is observed which comes from both a hot spot on the surface of the blackbody source and an ionized optically thin envelope. The distance of RX Cas as estimated from the GSIII giant star radiation is approximately 280 pc, the G5III radius is approximately 10 Rsub(Sun) the radius of the hot source is approximately 8 Rsub(Sun)
