Evaporation cryostat and superconducting quenched bismuth films

Description
A He4 evaporation cryostat has been constructed for studies of a superconducting film quenched on a substrate at liquid helium temperature. Heat radiation and contaminating residual gases are carefully controlled. Preliminary experiments also reported here are on diamagnetic susceptability induced by fluctuating Cooper pairs in quenched bismuth films. (author)
